CAD Designer - Zero Zone

JOB DESCRIPTION

This CAD Designer will be located at our Dyersville, IA facility and assist in designing mechanical refrigeration systems, control panels, and custom electro-mechanical centers utilizing SolidWorks with direction provided by the Engineering team. The CAD Designer will collaborate with our onsite production team to update drawings to reflect as built systems applying standard drafting techniques throughout the system design. The following are the essential duties and responsibilities you can expect to do:

· Create new and/or revise preliminary design from objects, rough sketches or verbal or written instructions from engineers

· Construct and maintain SolidWorks models of parts and design templates to support engineering and production

· Revise current drawings per Engineering Change Order (ECO) specifications, changing views and dimensions as necessary to keep drawings in balance

· Learn and maintain knowledge of SolidWorks computer aided design system functions and capabilities

· Discuss specifications with engineers and makes production line observations as necessary to complete work assignments

· Work with internal team on system designs and concepts

· Utilize Zero Zone’s standard drafting procedures in order to provide design consistency throughout engineering and production

What Are We Looking For?

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required of you in this position:

    · A minimum of a two-year Associate technical degree in Drafting/Designer is required

    · Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment desired

    · Proficiency in SolidWorks is required, experience with AutoCAD is desired

    · A high electro-mechanical aptitude and knowledge is preferred

    · Effectively communicate with coworkers on projects

    · Experience with Microsoft Office required

    · Knowledge of ERP systems is helpful
