Job Title: Barista
Job Description: We are seeking a skilled (or wiling to learn) and enthusiastic Barista to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee and tea beverages, engaging with customers, and maintaining a welcoming and clean environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for coffee, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
We are looking for individuals available to work weekday shifts in part-time or full-time capacity. Our store working hours are M-F 5:30am-4:30pm.
Additionally, we are looking for weekend staff and our weekend working hours are Saturday 6:30-4:30 and Sunday 6:30-1:30.
Essential Duties: Customer service: Warmly greet customers, take orders, and accurately process payments. You'll build rapport with regular customers and make menu recommendations based on customer preferences.
Beverage preparation: Expertly prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including espresso drinks, energy drinks and tea, following recipes and standards.
Equipment maintenance: Operate and maintain coffee equipment such as espresso machines and grinders, performing regular cleaning to ensure everything operates smoothly.
Cleanliness and Other Duties: Keep the store clean, sanitary, and well-organized at all times. Perform opening and closing duties as outlined in company policy manual.
Team collaboration: Work effectively with other team members to manage busy periods and contribute to a positive, efficient work environment.
Qualifications: - Previous barista or food service experience is a plus, but not required, as on-the-job training is provided.
- "Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential for interacting with customers and team members effectively".
- The ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure during high-volume periods.
- A strong work ethic, reliability, and a positive, approachable demeanor.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and credit transactions accurately.
- Physical stamina, including the ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Baristas working a Jumble are eligible to receive tips in addition to the hourly pay. Baristas also enjoy a complimentary coffee during their shift.
