Job Title: VP of People and Culture

Job Description: JOB SUMMARY
The Vice President of Commercial and Ag Lending is responsible for developing and maintaining strong customer relationships in alignment with Community Savings Bank’s business strategies. This role entails originating, underwriting, and closing a range of secured and unsecured loans—including commercial, agriculture, real estate, and retail—while ensuring compliance with lending objectives and institutional policies. The position plays a critical part in customer acquisition, retention, and overall growth.
This role requires registration as a Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO) with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) if engaging in real estate lending. Assistance with certification may be provided as needed.

Essential Duties: KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
• Conduct interviews with loan applicants and gather necessary information, including credit reports, background checks, appraisals, and other relevant documentation.
• Analyze applicant financial status, creditworthiness, and collateral to determine loan feasibility.
• Structure loan packages and negotiate terms within established standards such as fees, repayment schedules, and credit conditions.
• Present loans to the loan committee for approval and ensure complete and accurate documentation per policy.
• Ensure timely and accurate loan closings and funding activities.
• Utilize government lending programs when necessary to meet customer credit needs.
• Serve as a resource for customers with inquiries or complaints related to loan services and products.
• Familiarize self with programs such as but not limited to FSA, B&I Guarantees, SBA 504 and 7(a), programs as well as federal, state, and local programs and incentives to aid borrowers.
• Participate in loan collection procedures to support timely recovery of delinquent accounts; develop revised repayment plans as appropriate.
• Build and maintain relationships with business clients and community partners to promote bank lending services and initiatives.
• Cross sells appropriate bank products and services in response to customer needs.
• Refer customers to Client Service Associates as needed for additional support.
• Represent Community Savings Bank in local business groups, professional associations, and community events to enhance the Bank’s visibility and credibility.
• Contribute to the physical upkeep and appearance of the branch facility when required.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Five years’ minimum experience as a commercial and/or agricultural lender
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Agriculture, or relevant work experience
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Desire to pursue a career in commercial and/or agricultural lending.
• Prior experience in banking, finance, or agribusiness is a plus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• Full-time, in-office position with standard banking hours.
• Occasional travel to branch locations or customer sites may be required.
